Sited to the rear of block 4 (flats 20-23) within the woodland shelter belt.T1 Sycamore It is proposed to undertake a selective crown reduction and lateral branch reduction to the south-western aspect of the Sycamore canopy. The proposed works are required to address branches that have become overextended and are encroaching upon the adjacent building and roof structure. The south-western canopy will be selectively reduced to establish a minimum clearance of approximately 2.5m from the roof structure, whilst retaining sufficient crown volume to maintain the tree?s natural form and amenity value. The upper canopy, which currently extends significantly above the roofline, will be selectively reduced and blended into the surrounding crown to reduce its dominance over the building. The overextended upper growth will be reduced by no less than approximately 1.5m, where necessary, to achieve a balanced and proportionate crown profile.Pruning will be undertaken selectively, with no individual pruning cut exceeding 60mm in diameter. Cuts will be made at suitable pruning points and positioned to minimise the risk of decay and maintain the tree?s structural integrity. The proposed works are intended to provide appropriate clearance from the building whilst retaining the overall character, health, structure and visual amenity of the tree. Works to be carried out in accordance with BS3998(2010), nearest best practice pruning points.

Pruning will be undertaken selectively to retain the natural form and balance of the crown, with the upper canopy blended back into the existing crown profile. The individual stem/branch diameter cuts will exceed 40mm and retained branch lengths will be no less than 1.2 metres. All works will be carried out sympathetically and in accordance with good arboricultural practice, with the aim of maintaining the health, structure and amenity value of the tree whilst providing the required clearance from the garage.Works to be carried out in accordance with BS3998(2010), nearest best practice pruning points.

This application relates to two trees located at the far end of the rear garden of 73 Middle Brook Street, as identified on the accompanying sketch plan.Tree 1 Elder tree Tree 1 is an elder tree. The proposed work is to fell the tree to ground level and remove the resulting arisings. The tree is partially dead and has already shed several large branches. Following an inspection, an arborist advised that it is unlikely to recover satisfactorily, even if the remaining dead wood is removed, and recommended its removal.Tree 2 Yew tree Tree 2 is a yew tree located immediately adjacent to Tree 1. The proposed work is to fell the tree to ground level and remove the resulting arisings. Removal is proposed at the same time as Tree 1 to enable the area around both trees to be cleared and investigated following signs of rodent activity near the roots. The stumps will be ground out below ground level and the resulting material removed.
