G1 - A group of 3x self-sown Sycamores growing close to Black Bridge on the River Itchen. The tree roots are now undermining the rivers support piles and forcing them apart. These support piles would have been put in place before the flats were built. The future growth of these trees could also affect for foundations of bridge. The trees are in poor condition and are self-sown, there is evidence of some branch removal in the past. I would recommend felling and removing these trees to alleviate further damage before remedial work on the banking can take place.

    33 Wharf Hill Winchester Hampshire SO23 9NQ

  13. Decided25/02454/TPO

T1 (beech): Carry out radial reduction by no more than 2.5m with maximum pruning wounds of 50 mm. The tree has historically lost a large stem, leaving a wound that is going to continue to decay and is now a likely point of failure. The reduction is to safeguard the retention of the tree and retain as much amenity as feasibly possible. The reduction to current pruning points is insufficient in my opinion, ad the canopy must be pruned in such a wway as to mimic the retrenchment. (Amended)T7 (Weeping beech: not on survey schedule). This tree is covered by the conservation area but not TPOd. Reduce overextended limb on western aspect by no more than 3m with pruning wounds no greater than 50 mm. (Amended)
