    21 Little Martins, Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, OX10 0FT

    Received 3 Feb 2025
  14. Decision MadeP23/S0751/TPO

T1) Beech One mature beech tree. Approximately 15m tall. 5m away from boundary. 1st tree RH side in group looking from property. Tallest tree within group of 5 between property and footpath. Reported to sway in wind. Slightly leaning. Old split in main stem near ground level. Recommendation/Request Reduce crown by approximately 20%, equivalent to 2m from height and side growth. T2) Beech One mature beech tree. Approximately 10m tall. 1m away and closest to boundary. 2nd tree RH side in group looking from property. Tree previously topped (had upper crown and stem removed) Main lower stem has extensive areas of dead cambium where the integrity of the wood can no longer be guaranteed, mostly on the opposite side to property. Extent of decay was possible to observe only with sound testing not visually. Tree is in a very poor condition. Recommendation/Request Fell, leaving a low stump. For T1 and T2 All brushwood will be chipped on site and recycled by spreading on woodland floor. All timber will be left stacked in log length tidy eco wood piles (that I suspect will disappear by log souvenir hunters). The work place will be left in a clean and tidy condition.

    22 Hazel Grove, Kingwood, RG9 5NH

  15. Decision MadeP25/S2641/TCA

T1- Ash. Remove the dead wood and crown raise the tree to 5m above ground level to allow more light filtration underneath the crown. T2- Willow. Pollard the large tree back to the original 'knuckles' (point of previous pruning); the tree has been maintained as a pollard for many years. This would entail the removal of approximately 3m of regrowth. T3- Apple. Reduce and reshape the tree to manage as a more compact specimen. This would entail the removal of approximately 1.5m of regenerative growth. TG6- Elder/holly: a group of densely ivy clad trees. Prune away from gutter and house to give 60cm clearance.

  21. Decision MadeP24/S2528/TCA

FIVE DAY NOTICE The tree is a birch tree in my lawn. It has been leaning slightly for some time, but in recent days has moved significantly and is now leaning dangerously, and needs to be removed before it falls. The roots on one side have started to lift above ground level, and cracks have formed in the ground which are so wide a hand fits easily in them. If/when it falls, it is likely to destroy a garden pergola. It is not close to any of my boundaries. I have contacted a local tree surgeon, who has advised that the tree is dangerous and should be taken down immediately. I have therefore arranged for him to attend to remove the tree on Thursday 8th August.

The Works will involve diverting the current low voltage overhead network of 2 spans and one pole, we will also be replacing a second pole as the integrity of the pole is unknown. Please note the line voltage will not be changed at any point and the new poles will not exceed the height of the highest existing support by more than 10%, exempting the right to trigger a section 37. We will work closely with the landowners to make sure we use the best access, and all works is reinstated correctly.

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for South Oxfordshire District Council, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
