Self seeded, large Sycamore tree situated on the front lawn of the Old Row House on the border of a stream that runs alongside the house. The roots of this tree are embedded in the bank of this stream. Due to all the rain we have had this year, the bank of our stream is eroding and the lower part of the Sycamore tree trunk now appears to be leaning further towards our house and branches are now touching the roof. The thatched roof will need replacing in 2024 and the branches will certainly impede the work that needs to be done to rethatch the roof. In addition, some branches of the tree are now touching overhead lines. We would like permission for this self-seeded tree to be felled completely or pruned substantially. We have had permission in the past to prune the branches but it has grown substantially since the work was last done. Although the tree appears not to be hazardous at the moment, in order for it not to become a danger to our property and to our neighbours in the village, we would prefer it to be felled now.

I am requesting to trim the tree which encrotches over my boundary from 2 Beech Rise. Debris falls from the tree and has cracked the windscreen of my vehicle in the past. I have also just finished renovating the house, and have a newborn baby which sleeps in a room under the tree and do not want any harm to come by falling debris. The tree has clearly not been looked after and is out of control. Tree co-ordinates 51.522191, -0.983697 on google maps.

Tree Survey Report Property Name: 6a Bridge End Dorchester on Thames Date of Survey: [30/10/23] Tree Identification: Common Name: English Yew Scientific Name: Taxus baccata Tree ID Number: N/A Location: Address 6a Bridge End Dorchester on Thames GPS Coordinates N/a Position on Property: Rear garden Tree Dimensions: Height: 11 meters Spread :- North 4.5 meters East 4.5 meters South 5.0 meters West 5.0 meters General Tree Health: Overall, the Taxus baccata tree appears to be in good health. It exhibits a typical and well-maintained appearance for its age and species. Tree Condition: Bark: The tree's bark is smooth, with a dark brown to reddish-brown coloration. Foliage: The yew tree displays dense, dark green foliage, which is typical for a Taxus baccata. Limbs and Branches: The limbs and branches appear sturdy and well-distributed throughout the crown. But due to size of the crown and shading and berry drop in neighbours garden we would like to reduce by 25% and improve overall shape with crown lift and thinning. (Reduce by 1m in height and 1m lateral spread and lift crown from ground level by 0.5m). Roots: Root exposure or damage was not observed at ground level. Maintenance Recommendations: 1. Pruning:Regular pruning should be conducted to maintain the desired shape and size of the yew tree. Pruning should be carried out during the dormant season to minimize stress to the tree. Future Considerations: The English Yew tree is a valuable ornamental tree, and its long-term maintenance and health should be a priority to preserve its aesthetic and ecological value to the property.

T1 mature Cedar of Lebanon (T1 of TPO 11/1981) has recently lost a limb, with other historic limb loss also observed during our visit. The recent limb loss was observed in the rear garden. The union/branch junction failure point looked sound with no incipient decay/weakness observed. Without seeing the branch in situ before the failure, we can only assume a combination of over extension and summer limb drop came into play here. In order to mitigate concerns with this large roadside tree, we proposed the following works: Reduce over extended laterals by up to a maximum of 3.0m where appropriate, leaving a balanced and flowing crown. Carry out climbing inspection looking for any features, removing any broken or trapped branches as required. T2 mature Lime located beside gate (within G2 of TPO 11/1981) is in a decline spiral with notable lower leaf density and colour than neighbouring trees, along with bacterial exudate and exposed sapwood at key points of the main trunk. Dismantle to ground level.
