Council planning record

Self seeded, large Sycamore tree situated on the front lawn of the Old Row House on the border of a stream that runs alongside the house. The roots of this tree are embedded in the bank of this stream. Due to all the rain we have had this year, the bank of our stream is eroding and the lower part of the Sycamore tree trunk now appears to be leaning further towards our house and branches are now touching the roof. The thatched roof will need replacing in 2024 and the branches will certainly impede the work that needs to be done to rethatch the roof. In addition, some branches of the tree are now touching overhead lines. We would like permission for this self-seeded tree to be felled completely or pruned substantially. We have had permission in the past to prune the branches but it has grown substantially since the work was last done. Although the tree appears not to be hazardous at the moment, in order for it not to become a danger to our property and to our neighbours in the village, we would prefer it to be felled now.
