T1- Medlar: Fell to ground level due to proximity to building, as well as signs of blight during the year.T2- Cherry: Fell to ground level. Over the last 2 years, the tree has show significant signs of dieback throughout the canopy with no signs of improvement. The tree is likely over mature, and has a number of high value targets beneath, as well as being in close proximity to buildings. T3- Beech and Laurel: Permission to fell to ground level. The trees are growing in very close proximity, and have very poor form with limited aesthetic value, and no opportunity to prune and improve this. Re- planting with something more appropriate is the preferred option. T4- Bay tree: Fell to ground level. The tree is in close proximity to the wall and causing issues with the foundations. It is also very over mature for it's species, and has lost any aesthetic value.T5- Holly: Prune aspect encroaching on house away to provide 1-2m clearance from structure. G1: Group of understory made up of Bay, Llilac, Philadelphus and some other small shrubs: Remove all understory, including all the Bay trees, leaving only mature trees including 2x Birch, 1x Pine, 1x Holm Oak and 1x Judas tree. All the understory is very overgrown and suppressing the growth of anything else beneath the trees. This whole area under the trees will be replanted with more appropriate plants. All trees being removed will have trees re-planted in their place throughout the garden.

T1 - Oak (Quercus sp.) Fell urgently and replace.Further to the original application, the tree sustained a second substantial vehicle impact during the night of 6 October 2026, compounding the extensive basal damage sustained on 10 May.The cumulative injuries have resulted in near-complete ring-barking of the lower stem, with extensive destruction of the cambial and phloem tissues. This will severely compromise the translocation of photosynthates to the root system, progressively depleting carbohydrate reserves and ultimately resulting in physiological decline and death. The extent of vascular disruption is effectively irreversible, with negligible prospects of successful wound occlusion or long-term survival. Furthermore, the extensive exposed woody tissues provide opportunities for colonisation by wood-decay organisms, potentially compromising structural integrity.Given the severity of the injuries, urgent consent for felling is requested, with replacement planting proposed further back from the highway to minimise future vehicle impacts.

Fell 1 x self-sown, early-mature Beech (Fagus sylvatica) located towards the south of Nos. 18 and 19 Holly Meadows.Reasons for works: The tree is not part of any planting scheme, it sits incidentally within a historic avenue of veteran lime trees. It is not in keeping with the avenue and detracts from its visual amenity and the historic character of the designed landscape. It also casts shade and competes for light, moisture and nutrients with the veteran lime trees, and its continued growth will progressively suppress their crowns.Removal is recommended to release the veteran limes from competition, in line with recognised veteran tree management practice. Removing it at this stage, before it reaches full maturity, minimises loss of amenity and limits disturbance to the limes? roots compared with felling a larger tree in future. The canopy gap will be left to natural regeneration from the suppressed trees nearby.

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for Winchester City Council, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
