  8. Decided26/01270/TPO

Submitted as 26/01164/TPC. To fully remove a boundary hedge of leylandii bushes and trees totalling about 35 plants along a 40m boundary edge of my property. The plants sit within my garden to provide a screen from my neighbour's garden however they have grown too tall and block light to our property. The neighbour also prefers to have the plants removed as they are now too tall to easily maintain and look scrappy. The plants would be removed from the property and the stumps ground down. They will be replaced with a wooden fence and planting of native species of trees and shrubs such as yew, beech and holly to break up the fence line. The Leylandii themselves are not protected but the garden sits within a TPO area due to the large native trees surrounding the property.

  11. Decided26/01273/TPC

T1 - Western Red Cedar - Fell to ground level as the trees roots are now starting to push up and disturb block pavers on the pathway making them uneven and a trip hazard. No replacement tree to be planted as the only ground is far too small to support a new planted tree as the existing one is pushed right up to a brick wall. T2 - Cherry tree - Fell to ground level as the trees roots are pushing up paving slabs on the main footpath making them uneven and a trip hazard at the top of a flight of stairs also. The tree is also dying back in places. The client is open to options of replacing the tree with another one in an appropriate area close to the existing tree.

T6 - Yew tree Height 18m to reduce to no less than 15m, radial spread 11m to reduce to no less than 8m. Arboricultural Justification: To undertake a sympathetic crown reduction in accordance with BS3998:2010 to maintain the tree at a sustainable size relative to its growing environment and reducxe end-weight thoughout the crown. The works will lessen mechanical loading on extnded limbs, improve the tree's long-term structural integrity, and reduce the liklihood of branch failure during adverse weather conditions. The propsoed reduction will retain the tree's natural form and amenity value whilst establishing an appropriate management cycle for this mature specimen.T7 - Sycamore to take back to source the first 4no branches at 35mm stem diameterArboricultural Justification:To remove four small lower branches by pruning bak to source. The works are minor in nature and intended to improve canopy structure and provide appropriate clearance beneath the crown. The proposed pruning involves the removal of small diameter branches only and will not adversely affect the health or stability of the tree. (Amended)

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for Winchester City Council, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
