  6. Decision MadeP26/V0793/TCA

T1 Lime - We are planning to cut the tree down to fence height. The reason for this is the tree blocks sunlight in our garden for most of the day. The tree is also only approximately 8 meters from our house and would land on our house if it fell. The tree is too big for us to manage and prune ourselves. Where the tree is so large, birds are pooing over our decking/seating area causing a dirty environment. We are due a baby this summer and we would worry about disease.

T1 - Bay tree T1 - Bay tree (Laurus nobilis) - fell because of the height of the tree and the proximity to listed buildings. This multi-stemmed evergreen tree is fast growing and due to lack of access to the garden it is impossible to keep it under control. It is now well above the roof line of the properties and has doubled in height over an eight year period. This location in the garden is not suitable for replanting another tree, however it will be sympathetically replaced with appropriate planting. Remarks:

  12. Decision MadeP24/V1998/TCA

FIVE DAY NOTICE (Retrospective) Split Poplar tree. One of the primary limbs had suffered a longitudinal shear crack measuring 5m in length. It had extended beyond the crack visible in the attached photos by the time we got there, nearly reaching the union. The limb was overhanging the house visible in the photos, if it had failed it would have struck the house. We removed the limb back to source, not ideal but leaving a stub with a split would have left it prone to future failure when the regrowth matured.
