The Ash tree (T1) to be felled due to the danger of it falling onto the adjacent Almshouses. It is subject to Ash Die Back and is leaning towards the Almshouses and has already shed branches which landed on the Almshouses roof. The owner Mrs Esther Wakely agrees and is concerned about her liability should the tree fall on the Almshouses. The trustees of the Almshouses also support the felling of the tree. A large tree in the grounds of the Almshouses fell after being reduced, damaging the Almshouses. A similarly large Ash tree on the Drayton Road was felled recently due to Ash Die Back infection. A tree surgeon has examined the tree and agreed to fell it subject to the tree officers approval.
