  4. Decision MadeP25/V1944/TCA

T520 Lime pollard: Following the split out of one of the pollard heads, we have assessed the tree and recommend that it is pollarded to a height at approximately 4m, which is beneath the existing pollard heads, this will remove the decayed sections, while retaining the tree. There is a small chance this tree will decline following the work, however the only other viable option would be the removal of the tree, so it is worth trying to retain the tree where possible. Pollarding the tree at the previous pollard points, will leave the split and decayed sections, and once regrown, the tree will be in the same unstable state in 4/5 yearsâ¿¿ time, making this option unviable.
