Council planning record

FIVE DAY NOTICE Over the weekend one of the trees in Pinewood Schools copse behind the main school house and the playing fields started to lean towards the bridge and upper lawn. The tree, a relatively small and inconsequential part of the tree cover in the copse is asymmetrical due to its location on the woodland edge. The pre-existing lean and high winds over the latter part of last week, coupled with the very wet nature of the soils has allowed the soil to start shearing around the roots and the lean is getting progressively worse. The root plate is lifting and voids are easily detectable under the lifted roots. A significant gap has developed in the canopy as the tree moves away from its neighbours. The tree is clearly unstable and i have advised the school to remove it at their earliest convenience to remove the risk to the school children and staff.
