Council planning record

Reference is made to the annotated laser survey diagram, 4593/01, which shows trees and shrubs on our property and neighbouring properties. We wish to fell one beech tree [T1] which has grown to an excessive size, creating a large area where there is insufficient light and water to allow other plants to grow. Thus it has also proven to be impossible to grow plants to provide ground cover. The tree is now too large for a domestic garden and poses some risk to the house. The tree will be removed close to ground level. The accompanying photograph shows the tree in winter and summer. The tree is now too large for the garden; approximate dimensions are: - Canopy extending in excess of 7.5 metres from the trunk. - Height 17 metres. - Trunk girth 2 metres. - Distance from trunk to house 15 metres. The tree has grown to such an extent that it is encroaching on, and pushing out of shape, a mature silver birch tree. This silver birch would benefit form removal of the beech. The laser survey, which was conducted when there were no leaves on the trees, did not fully resolve the birch tree as separate from [T1]. Other trees on the laser survey diagram: [TA] a large lime tree in neighbouring property. [T1a] the beech for removal [T1b] a silver birch tree [T2] a beech tree. [T3] a leylandii. [T4] a large beech tree. [T5] a holm oak. [T6] a black mulberry [T7] we have already, in a non-shaded area, planted a number of native species; field maple, dogwood, dogrose, spindle. [T8] very tall leylandii hedge in neighbouring property. Other future planting, we plan flowering and fruit trees which are proportionate to the area in which they planted. There are already a number of shrubs and small trees in the garden.
