Council planning record

Tree of heaven stands in the garden of Sheard Studio immediately to the west of the house. The tree is also very close to the neighbouring property "Lavender House" and some branches overhang Lavender House roof. The tree is nearing the end of its lift and has started shedding branches from time to time. It has started to pose a risk to both Sheard Studio and Lavender House. We propose to reduce the size of the tree by removing some side branches and reducing the crown (5m reduction in height and lateral spread), (although this is difficult to do as the species will sprout profusely from the saw cuts). Reduction is only a short term solution and we propose to plant a suitable replacement tree as close as practicable to the tree to enable future removal of the tree of heaven.
