Council planning record

Line of Lime trees. (TPO G1) All the trees have good foliar cover and no obvious pathogens acting on the bases of the trees. They form part of a line, the central section of the line of the trees, five of which are in the churchyard to the west, and another six in a private garden to the east. T1 is the most eastly tree. It is twin-stemmed with dense leaf cover extending over the properties to the south and the north. The tree has been reduced lightly historically and it would be my recommendations to carry out the same works, reducing branch tips by approximately 1-1.5m back to previous pruning points and the top by approximately 2m, leaving a canopy spread of 12-14m and a height of 20m. T2 has been braced and historically reduced. The bracing appears quite tight and would need to be changed to dynamic cobra bracing and possibly also moved up tree to higher point. The main fork union has multiple lesions, dark staining indicating stress and possibly bark dysfunction and necrosis. Some historic lesions on the main stem, which are quite old and lower down. This is primarily on the north side, although there are some lesions on the south side as well. These should be monitored for advance infection over the coming years. Recommendations would be the same as T1, reducing branch tips by approximately 1-1.5m back to previous pruning points and the top by approximately 2m. T3 which is the central tree which has a twisting included union from 3m and bracing which appears to be ok. Recommendations would be to reducing the branch tips by approximately 1-1.5m back to previous pruning points and the top by approximately 2m. T4 Bifurcates at 2m and has a large historic area of damage, probably from building works on south side which appears to be including and has compartmentalised well behind the wound site. There is one patch of staining or dark lesion which may indicate some other form of pathogen. Recommendations would be to reduce the tree in line with others and cut back from the streetlight. T5 is the end tree adjacent to road. Very perfuse epicormic growth on base and main stem. Tree is very suppressed having had multiple branches removed in the past. Unable to inspect base clearly because of the epicormic growth. Recommendations would be the same as previous trees (reducing branch tips by approximately 1-1.5m back to previous pruning points and the top by approximately 2m) and to clear basal epicormic to allow for closer inspection.
