Female black poplar - fell due to excessive lean (in excess of 20 degrees) over stream and hazard of electrical supply pylon. Tree is diseased. Replant with female black poplar to same site. For tree identification, please see Site Plan attached separately. The poplar will need to be felled in sections of approximately 50cm and will not be felled in one. Each section will be cut in half to reduce weight whilst still attached to the trunk and then lowered to the ground with ropes. Great care will be taken to a) avoid damage to the far stream bank b) avoid sections falling in the stream c) avoid damage to the existing electricity supply pylon. It is not anticipated that there will be any disruption to traffic on the road as pollarding done to the tree over the last ten years has removed all protruding branches and the work will be done in winter once all leaf fall has already taken place. All sections will be used in the garden of the owner to create a pathway.
