Single Field Maple to be reduced in size due to it being above it's optimal size and to reduce the danger of further falling limbs as a 50ft limb fell on the evening of 23 May, demolishing a 20ft of fence and a storage container due to a localised area of tree rot. After inspection from a tree specialist (Mark Mathews of Parkfield Tree Care) he indicated that the tree was in need of a reduction in size to around 30-40ft top height of the central limb, with the outer limbs below that level. The work will be conducted on 27 September 2022. The Field Maple is the only major tree in our garden, all other trees are on neighbouring properties. The purpose of the reduction is to ensure that the tree remains safe for all living close to it, and to allow it to flourish for the next 50 years.
