Council planning record

One Sycamore in G1. Minor works (as listed below) are recommended to crown lift the canopy of a Sycamore to improve lower light levels and to remove dead and squirrel damaged wood. The diagram of the branches to be pruned are in the Pre-Application report. Three Ash trees in G2. It is noted that the one of these larger Ash trees (1) has numerous old pruning cuts and appears to have a fungal bracket high up on the trunk of Inonotus hispidus a decay fungus that can lead to stem breakage. The tree is growing adjacent to the public highway and may pose a risk to pedestrians and traffic should the branch fail. This tree is recommended for removal. An adjacent Ash (2) growing adjacent has a wide fork and spread canopy. The removal of this tree is recommended following the removal of (1) as it will be left exposed and vulnerable to excessive wind-loading. The Council would also raise no objections in principle to the removal of a third Ash (3) on the southern boundary growing close to property (NB. the Sycamore adjacent to (3) remains subject of the Tree Preservation Order). Group 1, Front garden - 1x Sycamore - Remove four secondary branches back to source to raise canopy over garden and parking areas (see Fig. 1) All trees - Sever ivy Inspect bases and unions on trees where currently obscured by ivy. Remove deadwood / squirrel damaged branches where necessary. Group 2, Rear garden - 3x Ash - Fell to ground level
