Planning application documents: what to read first
Understand planning application documents, officer reports and decision notices. Use a reading checklist, document table and worked example to inspect a case.
Application overview
The tree is a Norweigan Spruce. We have consulted with a tree surgeon to discuss the tree and what would be advised. We were advised by the tree surgeon that it appears that the tree has not been properly managed historically. We have recently moved into the property. It appears that the tree is very overgown and has not been pruned or managed. We would like to propose to fell the tree due to excessive shadow, it has outgrown its location. It is up against our property, the neighbours property and an oil tank. We would like to replant with an Acer in the same position which we will manage. We would like to create a garden for wildlife and the needles and shade mean that we cannot grow the type of plants we want for pollinators.
