It is proposed to formalise the area at the back of the the buildings and create a shared use area for pedestrians, cyclists and parking bays. It is proposed to regulate the parking by the introduction of a traffic regulation order to prohibit parking outside the bays. Presently the area is used for some parking: on the area to the north there is presently a by law restricting parking which is not enforced The proposed parking area and shared surface is Hot rolled asphalt with resin bound 20mm gravel chips, footways to be Saxon paving and the turning head to be in woburn block paving. The proposals will enhance and create a shared space , allowing vehiclar access to the businesses while giving a safe cycle and pedestrian link from Blevdare Road to the Bascule Bridge.
