Council planning record

One lime tree, approx 100ft high. Tree was having dead wood removed following risk assessment from the ground by Bowland Tree Services when the tree was in full leaf. Work was being carried out by Preston Tree Surgeons and they reported one or more cavities, as per photo at 40ft. Other cavities may be present at higher level and tree surgeon advises that there is a risk of tree snapping at that point with risk mostly to adjacent used car lot on Chorley Road, and also house/garage at 23 Walton Green. Tree surgeon advises felling of tree. Adjacent lime tree of same age already came down in high winds in 2014 due to rot, and caused severe property damage. No replacement tree to be planted as would not be consistent with existing very mature trees which are probably 100 years old
