(T1) Japanese Pagoda Tree (Sophora Japonica) will be felled to ground level. Reason for removal: The tree is showing signs of deterioration with sparse leaf coverage and included bark on several unions throughout the canopy, and that the canopy hangs over the roof of the property removal is really only the way forward as a crown reduction would only speed up the trees deterioration.

TG1- Woodland Belt bordering southern boundary of property. Consisting of Approx. 3 prunus avium, 2 holm oak, 5 field maple, 2 beech, 4 birch. Application is to remove and replace wood land belt with 4 individual specimen trees. Client planted the woodland belt approximately 12 years ago to screen a potential development on the southern boundary of the property. Since this is no longer an issue the plans for the area are being re addressed. Due to the dense planting of the original woodland and lack of management over the subsequent years there are few specimens worth retaining that would not be susceptible to adverse wind loading and would present heavily A symmetrical canopies. To maintain a consistent canopy cover we are proposing to fell the trees in the woodland belt and replant with 4 specimen trees that would make better use of the area and provide a higher overall amenity value in the long term. Given the location and scale of the works I am happy to meet the case officer on site to discuss the works and proposed replacement planting.

trees are subject to TPO: 13S03 G1 – x2 Oaks & x1 Ash – Oaks present with significant signs of stress – Ash presents with stages 1 & 2 Ash dieback - Carefully dismantle the tree using mobile crane or modern rigging techniques to mitigate risk to the driveway, neighbouring properties, any utilities and the surrounding areas – Finished stump height will be left close to ground level. T2 – Oak – Tree presents with a significant asymmetrical form towards the properties to the south east - Carefully carry out formative pruning works by reducing the vertical profile by up to 2ms in length and the lateral profile on the south east aspect of the tree by 2ms in length – This will help to reduce pressure on the unions and root plate creating a smaller crown template and helping to alleviate the risk of future failure. During the course of operations an aerial inspection will be carried out to access any cavities, branch unions or structural defects present – Major deadwood (with a diameter greater than 50mm) and defective branches will be removed or stabilised. T3 – Oak – Reduce over extended limb (identified during site visit 01/09/26) by 4-6ms leaving pruning cut at suitable branch junction. T4 – x1 Ash – Heavily declining form and asymmetrical profile - Carefully dismantle the tree using modern rigging techniques where appropriate to mitigate potential damage to the surrounding areas and improve safety protocols. Finished stump height will be left close to ground level. T5 – x1 Ash – Large mature tree – Identified with Ash dieback and declining vitality (identified during site visit 01/09/26) - Carefully dismantle the tree using modern rigging techniques where appropriate to mitigate potential damage to the surrounding areas and improve safety protocols. Finished stump height will be left close to ground level. T6 – Oak – Heavily declining form – Application to fell previously approved - Carefully dismantle the tree using modern rigging techniques where appropriate to mitigate potential damage to the surrounding areas and improve safety protocols. Finished stump height will be left close to ground level. Planting Schedule G1 – x6 Tree to be planted in the vicinity of G1 following the removal works detailed above – x3 Beech, x2 Hornbeam & 1x Field Maple – All trees to be at least 10-12 Standards in size. FIVE DAY NOTICE Scots Pine - tree removal, dead and dangerous We've had a dead tree on our plot for the last couple of years and are worried it's now become dangerously unstable. It has always been in poor health and died back in the intense summer heat of 2018. We thought it might show some signs of life after a winter/sprint season but it has only gone backwards ever since and is now worrying us so much that we are asking permission to have it taken down urgently on safety grounds. I have attached a series of pictures highlighting the tree in question, clearly showing its precarious state. It has lost nearly all of its bark and has been peppered with Wharf Borer Beetle holes throughout its main trunk area. This year some of the upper branches have snapped off and dropped to the ground in the high wind we had recently. I am deeply worried about it unexpectantly breaking and falling onto my children whilst they play in the garden, but equally concerned about it going over onto the adjacent lane and anyone using it. This tree needs to come down as a matter of urgency, in a controlled manner before it crashes down on its own and causes serious damage.

The new play area will cater to children aged 0-14 providing an enhanced play area. Additionally, the refurbishment will include modest improvements to existing boundaries, whilst respecting residents privacy and addressing known issues of anti-social behaviour).

What these statistics cover

These figures describe applications collected by PlanningTrack for South Oxfordshire District Council, across all dates currently available. They are a partial dataset, rather than an authority-wide performance measure. The date range does not establish continuous historical coverage.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
