Council planning record

TG1- Woodland Belt bordering southern boundary of property. Consisting of Approx. 3 prunus avium, 2 holm oak, 5 field maple, 2 beech, 4 birch. Application is to remove and replace wood land belt with 4 individual specimen trees. Client planted the woodland belt approximately 12 years ago to screen a potential development on the southern boundary of the property. Since this is no longer an issue the plans for the area are being re addressed. Due to the dense planting of the original woodland and lack of management over the subsequent years there are few specimens worth retaining that would not be susceptible to adverse wind loading and would present heavily A symmetrical canopies. To maintain a consistent canopy cover we are proposing to fell the trees in the woodland belt and replant with 4 specimen trees that would make better use of the area and provide a higher overall amenity value in the long term. Given the location and scale of the works I am happy to meet the case officer on site to discuss the works and proposed replacement planting.
