FIVE DAY NOTICE T1 - Beech - Tag No. 286, located on left hand side of the entrance driveway, opposite thatched cottage. Large amount of honey fungus identified around root system, we would recommend that due to its location this tree is felled to ground level. Works to be carried out of normal working hours due to the driveway location. THIS IS HIGH PRIORITY DUE TO THE CONDITION OF ROOT SYSTEM AND CLOSE PROXIMITY TO DRIVE AND POWER CABLE AND SIZE OF TREE. Within the woodland of G29 of plan.

  11. Decision MadeP26/S3694/TPO

The two mature trees are approximately 30m in height, with substantial lateral branches extending over the driveway and neighbouring garden areas. The trees are located approximately 13 metres from nearby residential properties. Previous branch loss has occurred from the canopy, affecting both the driveway and garden areas. As part of ongoing tree management and maintenance, it is proposed that the following works be undertaken by a qualified arborist. 1) Removal of Dead Wood Removal of dead, damaged and crossing branches throughout the canopy, particularly within the inner crown 2) End Weight Reduction Selective reduction of the outer extremities of larger lateral branches extending over the driveway and garden areas to improve branch balance and reduce leverage on extended limbs 3) Crown Reduction Selective pruning the canopy to reduce weight and hazard while safely preserving the tree shape, and thereby reducing the wind sail effect 4) Inspection of previous storm damage. Inspection and, where necessary, pruning of areas affected by previous branch loss and historic storm damage to maintain the long-term condition and management of the trees

Yews - lift the crown to 2m above ground level. Remove lower limbs and leaving, if possible, a clean (multi) stem to 2m and removing up to 50% of the crown and the overall height also by 2m. Remove crossing branches to establish each tree as an attractive, well proportioned entity each of roughly equal size. Holly - reduce in height to match. It is of low value being purely self-set predominantly a single stem going for the light between two of the Yews.
