  9. Decision MadeP24/S1456/TCA

We want to remove 2 Yew trees from our rear garden that borders our rear neighbour. The trees have become overgrown due to a lack of maintenance from the previous owner and overhang onto the other property as well as creating shade to other trees, including what looks to be a specimen tree planted during the previous owner's reshaping of the garden. After initially thinking of heavily pruning we now believe that it will be more suitable to remove them completely and replace them with young apple trees to create a small orchard and expose the original wall which is hidden by both Yews, which is more in keeping with the garden and also help to protect the boundary wall. They do not have TPOs to our knowledge.

  13. Decision MadeP26/S1757/TPO

A large section of a Horse Chestnut tree (TPO 0748) broke off and fell onto the river bank and river, damaging a boat and mooring. The tree is located at Walliscote Farm Moorings, High Street, Whitchurch, RG8 7EP. The tree now has a large hole approximately 4ft from the ground (images to be provided). Inside the hole, parts of the wood is soft with an unpleasant smell. I consider the tree to be in a dangerous condition and a risk to users of the river and neighbouring moorings. We have had a previous large limb (approx 2024) which fell onto the track that is used by other boat owners. Since then the tree was surveyed. The tree also has another large limb, which is currently being supported by a neighbouring tree. This limb is on the same side as the large hole, which is concerning. We would like to fully remove the tree.

The approval percentage is approved records divided by approved plus refused records. Pending, withdrawn and unknown outcomes are excluded. No percentage is shown until there is an approved or refused record.
