Council planning record

Tree survey: Lawson cypress (Cupressus lawsoniana) No. 1 on plan (document 1), 25 cm diameter at breast height, 6 m high and 2.5 m crown spread. About 12 years old, the bole of this tree is just 1 m from a yew (no 3 on plan) and is growing into its crown of the yew, spoiling its form. Robinia (Robinia pseudoacacia) â¿¿ No. 2 on plan, 30 cm diameter at breast height, 8 m high and 6 m crown spread. About 20 years old, this has also sent out a lower wayward branch through the yew (no 3 on plan). Yew (Taxus baccata) â¿¿ No. 3 on plan â¿¿ 20 cm diameter at breast height, 6 m high and 5 m crown spread). About 30 years old. Healthy â¿¿ and potentially of high amenity value if the cypress and one Robinia branch which are growing into the crown of the yew are removed. Proposed work: To fell the small Lawson cypress and remove half the length of the lowest Robinia branch, both of which operations will improve the form of the Robinia and moreover free the yew so that its crown can be shaped well. Photo (document 2) indicates work to be done (though trees are growing so close to each other that it is not easy to see).
