Council planning record

(T1) Tree of heaven (invasive species) â¿¿ remove tree and appropriately treat stump to prevent regrowth. Plant suitable replacement tree. Yew tree (located in rear garden, next to T1) â¿¿ remove tree and appropriately treat stump to prevent regrowth. T1 is now aggressively spreading, suckering across a large area including neighbouring properties. Dominating the local area and suppressing other plants via allelopathic effects, it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage. Considered a noxious weed it is already towering above properties on Queen St, Queen St Close, and Chiltern House. It has grown considerably (height and branch cover) since the house was purchased in 2020. There is now particular concern of the future impact of the root system on local building foundations and boarder walls. It is very close to 1860s property boarder walls with 25 Queen St and Chiltern House. Both neighbours have stated the tree is having a negative impact on their gardens and life at their property (allergies, constant new trees coming through everywhere, overbearing branch network, loss of light). Proposal to replace this tree with privet trees which will provide privacy for the garden, and habitat for local wildlife, while not dominating the local ecosystem and neigbouring properties.
