Application overview
Refurbishment of the existing builders merchants, comprising partial demolition of the existing building, alterations to the existing buildings, erection of covered cantilever racking and rationalisation of the site to provide external storage, servicing area, car and cycle parking spaces and fencing. (Amended plans and supporting information received 7th November 2025. The changes include: a reduction of the overall height of the cantilever racking and cladding over the main branch building by 1m; removal of the canopy overhang of the cantilever racking, reducing the projection of the racking by circa 2m; retention of part of the existing brickwork and metal sheet cladding over the main branch building; and the planting of trees on the corner of Reading Road and Perpetual Park Drive.
