Council planning record

T1 - Cedar of Lebanon Observations: A veteran Cedar of Lebanon, over 25 metres high, with a 20+ metre crown spread and a diameter of 2.2 metres at the base. It is located within a high occupancy residential area and is within falling distance of residential properties, and should the tree fail, could cause serious harm. The tree has undergone regular surveys and testing dating back to 2006. In 2006 the testing concluded that the tree was likely to have major basal decay and significant decay within the stem. In 2023 the testing concluded that the trunk of the tree was marginally within the limits of structural integrity. In 2024 the testing concluded that decay appears to have extended over the last period. The fungal fruiting body on the east side of the trunk at 2 metres may be causing the progression of the central decay. The trunk ratio remaining marginally within the limits of structural integrity. There has been a significant change in the testing from 2024 to 2025, with historical limb failure and a high probability of more limb failures. Recommendations: Fell to ground level.
