Birch tree - The tree presents with a Tiger Moth infestation and a cavity compromising the integrity of the main stem. This diagnosis has been verified by the RHS and Nicholsons Nurseries. Copies of their reports are attached along with photos illustrating the damage caused by the moth. Given the trees location and the high number of potential targets around the tree, not to mention the risk of the infestation spreading to other Birch tree in the vicinity it is prudent to expedite the remove the tree.
