Council planning record

With reference to the plan associated with this application the trees effected are as follows: A: Crack Willows adjacent to pond: reduce two trees to water level to restrict overcrowding. B: Poplar: reduce side branch to 1m to improve weight distribution of tree as a whole and lower the risk of the tree blowing over. C: Thin branches to diseased Apricot. The main body of the tree will be kept intact. Side branches are to be cut back where they cover an espalier-trained apple tree. This will reduce the apricot tree by perhaps 25%. D: Remove pair of Leylandii trees. E: Thin branches to Field Maples to reduce overhang into churchyard. As a total of the hedgerow, perhaps 5% of the maples will be thinned. Please find attached an annotated picture of the trees effected. These trees are part of a hedgerow that was allowed to grow without restraint. Thinning the trees too much might increase the risk of wind damage so the intention is to reduce just the overhang into the churchyard to provide more light whilst keeping the main tree screen intact. The prevailing wind is from the opposite side to the churchyard (from the right in the picture) so only trees on the downwind side will be effected. The tree indicated with the red arrow is to be taken down to ground level. The overhanging branches indicated by the yellow arrows on the adjacent tree are to be taken off to reduce the overhang. F: Pollard Crack Willows and reduce height of Field Maple to approximately 2m.
