Removal of inappropriately large, non-native spruce (pine) tree in SW corner of cottage garden, including removal of trunk. The tree blocks all sun from a south facing garden, resulting in poor plant growth and moss, rather than grass. Concern re: the size of the root system in relation to a listed cottage with no foundations. I do not know when the tree was planted, but it is now much too tall/ large for a small garden. I have previously had the tree "thinned"( with consent), but regrowth occurs within one season. Planting of a more appropriately sized replacement tree e.g crab apple or acer, as and when advised by arborist. There is no TPO on this tree. Has been discussed with neighbours in 'Greenville", who support the application. Arborist : Gary Downes, Oxford Tree Company.
