Council planning record

We propose to fell three to four of the smaller, dead Leylandii trees located within our property and where possible we also propose to remove some of the lower dead branches on some of the adjacent living Leylandii trees in the stand. The height of the dead trees ranges from about 4m to 7m and the diameter at the base of these trees is approximately 20-25cm. Given the low amenity value of these non-native trees, we propose not to plant replacements for the felled trees, as their removal and the trimming of some of the dead lower branches of the trees in the stand should enhance the growing conditions for nearby apple and other deciduous trees in the general vicinity of the leylandii stand. Figure 1 shows the location of the stand of Leylandii trees at the north eastern boundary of the property and Figure 2 shows the approximate location of the smaller trees which we plan to remove.
