The trees are located in the Cloister Garden to the North of the Abbey Church of St Peter & St Paul and are maintained by a group of volunteer gardeners. On the sketch plan T1 is a Holly tree and T2 is an Amelanchier. Both are in a small flower bed and are crowding out a weeping cherry which is a specimen tree which is being retained. Both the Holly and the Amelanchier need to be felled in order for the cherry to flourish. The garden is subject to a National Trust covenant under which consent has been granted for the felling. The attached photographs identify both trees.
