Application overview
Beech tree in rear of garden of 74 Greys Hill. Numbered T1 on the sketch plan. This tree is relatively young, with a trunk girth of 125mm. It is not protected by a TPO however is located within a Conservation Area. We are currently undergoing work for an approved single storey rear extension to the back of our property as per Planning Application Ref P23/S0070/HH. Our structural engineer has concerns with the tree and believes that as this tree matures, there is no doubt that the root growth would not only extend below the new extension but to other adjacent properties, which could cause damage to the structures. In light of this, he has asked that the tree be removed as part of this project to prevent future damage. The tree is currently situated ~6m from the rear of the house but will be situated ~4m from the rear once the extension is complete.
