T.1 Horse Chestnut (C) (TPO T1) Reduce the side of the canopy growing towards the house by 1-1.5m to maintain 2-2.5m clearance from the property and to also alleviate leverage weight on this side. Crown lift to approximately 4.5m by removing secondary growth only where possible T.3 Holm Oak (LG) (TPO T2) Remove subservient limb growing from the base Crown lift to approximately 2-2.25m by removing secondary growth only where possible Form overextended limb into a pollard to reduce the impact on the property. Reasons for the proposed works are listed and numbered below 1. The proposed works will help to prevent future conflict with the building. 2. The trees are beginning to dominate and whilst the residents like and enjoy the positive aspects of the tree, they do not want it to become any larger and therefore want to manage it to contain the size and spread of the tree, to prevent future problems. 3. The pruning will only remove an estimated 5% of the total leaf area of the trees and therefore the overall effect on the trees will be minimal. 4. The pruning will allow more light into the garden and property. 5. The trees vitally is good and therefore the pruning will not have a significant detrimental effect to overall condition of the tree. 6. The pruning will improve the relationship between the trees and their location. 7. Because the house screens the tree the branches removed will not be noticeable from public places and you will have to look hard to see they are missing, therefore the loss of visual amenity for the local landscape will be minimal. 8. The trees have grown significantly since the TPO was placed on it and I don't not see it as unreasonable for the home owners to request pruning to contain the size and spread of the tree and also to improve the enjoyment of the rest of the garden especially with T3 as it is so low meaning that it obscures the rest of the garden. Summary The proposed works will make significant difference to Clients use and enjoyment of their garden and will help to prevent future conflicts between the trees and the property. The reasons 1.-8. are all credible reasons, to justify the works, in their own right and all far out way the any loss of any visual amenity.
