Application overview
The position of the tree is shown on the attached site plan within the property. The tree is a twin trunk Leylandii, approximately 25m high. A drainage survey undertaken revealed root ingress into the adjoining drainage pipe. This is not yet affecting serviceability of the pipe, but it will worsen over time. In addition, the branches are now entangled in the electric cable, which has on one occasion sparked in a storm, necessitating a visit from the fire brigade. Southern Electric have said that the branches (at least) must be cut away; however in view of the drainage problem we have no option but to remove the tree completely.
