Council planning record

No trees on site are currently subject to TPOs. T012 English Yew (Taxus baccata) - light pruning to laterals to shape crown. No more than 1m reduction in height. T017, T018 and T020 all Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) and T019 English Yew (Taxus baccata) - all trees are growing on the very edge of a chalk cliff within 5 horizontal metres of Cliff Cottage. The top of the cliff and hence the base of the trees are at the same height as the roof ridge of the house. Should any of these trees fall they would cause catastrophic damage to Cliff Cottage. Crowns to be reduced to a safe height. If on further inspection, any tree proves to be unstable it may need to be removed altogether. Otherwise, works will be kept to a minimum. (T019 - reduce lateral spread (south) by 2m and the height by 4m). On further inspection and given the danger presented to the house and occupants, we would propose removing entirely T017, T018 and T020. If planting replacement trees elsewhere on site would help this request then we are happy to do so. Given that the property, cliff and trees are all hidden from the public highway by existing vegetation we do not think the removal of these trees would have any impact on the appearance of the conservation area. G016 Group of coppiced Sycamore behind solar panels - cutting back new growth that is now shading the solar panels below (height by 3m and lateral spread (south) by 2-3m). T015 Sycamore - removal of regrowth from stump to reduce shading of outbuilding and solar panels. Given the health of T015 referenced in the previously attached Arboricultural report we would propose removing all new growth back to the stump. T013 and T014 Sycamore - reduction of new growth to reduce shading of solar panels. (reduce height by 4m and the lateral spread by 3m (south and east).
