Council planning record

The owner of Little Barn Cottage has informed us that the roots from our Cherry tree are undermining her house and causing damage to her patio. The tree is located in our car park in Wheelers Yard, 3.3mts from the gable end of her property. We have commissioned an arboriculturist to report on the matter and attach a copy of his report. We would draw your attention to clauses 5.15, 5.17 and 5.21, all of which suggest that removal of the tree is the only way to secure the long-term safety of Little Barn Cottage, and the avoidance of future claims. Clauses 5.19 and 5.20 also refer to a V union on the lower stem which, if the tree were to be retained, could be a structural weak point, and consequently would require significant crown reduction pruning , having to be repeated every 3 to 5 years. Therefore, in order to prevent further damage to Little Barn Cottage, and to avoid further claims against us, we are making application to remove the tree completely.
