Council milestones and published deadlines. A deadline passing does not confirm a decision.
T1 Apple in rear garden. Tree has been heavily managed historically and has a marked lean to the south. There is significant bark death with saprophytic fungus growing on the tension side to the north and cavities in the main stem. Evidence of co-dominant stem having been removed relatively recently. It looks like this may as well have been dead at the time of removal. Our recommendations would be to remove the bulk of recent regeneration growth and also lightly restructure the canopy by 1-1.5m back to suitable growth points to mitigate the loading on the tree while still maintaining a reasonable sustainable canopy. The overall finish height of the tree will be reduced from approximately 7m to 5.5-6m and the spread reduced from 4.5m to 3m.
