Council planning record

1. (KEY A) An uprooted Sorbus tree in the back garden is to be cut down as it is a danger to the brick boundary wall, our garden and neighbouring garden Work: Cut down and clearing to ground level Reasons: We moved into the house in January 2023 and found the tree has already uprooted and only supported at an angle by the existing metal arch. The weight of the uprooted tree presents a danger of totally collapsing and damaging the brick wall and neighbouring property of Willoughby House, 75 Willoughby House and clearance of the tree is required to prevent the total collapse. 2. (KEY B) A very tall eucalyptus tree needs to be pruned and topped as to alleviate the trunk from the stress of carrying heavy weight as well as branches that block sunlight into the garden and encroaching into the ridges of the garage tiled roof Work: Tree topping and pruning Reasons: To decrease the weight carried out by the trunks (The compression had lead to rotting of part of the limb of the trunk as pictured). Increase the crown by cutting lower horizontal/curved branches (around 5-8) and maintaining the vertical shape of the tree by cutting any wayward/curving branches above. Tree height currently 25m tall. To prevent future encroachment to roof of the garage. To open up the garden to sunlight. 3. (KEY C) A cypress tree is to be cut down as it is very near to the house as well as encroaching towards Grade 2 listed thatched boundary wall Work: Fell to ground level Reasons: Felling of tree required to prevent future failure on to targets including the Grade 2 listed wall, house and road.
