Council planning record

Application to fell a large mature sycamore tree which is identified as T1 of Crowland Tree Preservation Order No 14 1998. The tree is located in the middle of the yard of J G Cross Monumental Masons at 23 West Street, Crowland. The tree is still a large impressive specimen, but of recent years has started to decline, and requires regular dead wooding, apparently it has required to be dead wooded three times this year. There are concerns for the safety of those which pass beneath the tree. An arboricultural report was produced it considered that there are two options:- '1. Apply to the Local Authority to fell the tree based on the findings of this report' 2. Remove all dead wood greater than 20mm in diameter and have the tree re-inspected within 12 months of the date of this report or following any storm event or changes to the trees visual condition.' The applicant is becoming increasing concerned at the regularity that the tree requires dead wooding and the safety implications if some is missed and therefore applies for 'option 1' removal.
