Council planning record

Application to discharge Condition 11 (Reptiles & Amphibians) of permission SCC/3865/2021: Two weeks prior to any developments taking place on site, grass, ruderal, and hedgerow lower stems will be strimmed/removed by hand in a two-phased cut; the first being to 20cm and the second to ground level to allow any reptiles, amphibians and hedgehogs to disperse naturally without injury. Following this an ecologist will carry out a fingertip/destructive search of the area to ensure that there are no reptiles present. Habitat degradation will be undertaken during a suitable time of year, weather and temperature to ensure that any reptiles, amphibians and hedgehogs present are mobile and that no hibernation refugia are impacted. A letter confirming these operations and any findings will be submitted to the Local Planning Authority by the ecologist responsible. Reason: In the interests of UK protected and priority species and in accordance with South Somerset District Council Local Plan - Policy EQ4 Biodiversity.
