The proposals seek to extend the existing library into the external courtyard space providing circa 60sm of additional library service user space to the existing 255sqm building. A clearstory window is proposed above to create a day lit environment. A series of retrofitting measures are proposed including a complete fabric upgrade and a decarbonisation of the existing heating supply. Elevational treatment is to be sympathetic to the original 1960’s building with minimal change to the front facing elevations. External access is to be remodelled with the addition of a Part M compliant ramp for Library Staff and users.
