- By virtue of its scale, depth and bulk the combined porch and canopy with bulky roof structure over would appear as overly dominant and out of keeping with the character and appearance of the original house and would have an adverse impact on the general streetscene to the detriment of the overall character of the area contrary to Core Policy 8 of the Slough Local Development Framework, Core Strategy (2006 – 2026) Development Plan Document, December 2008 and Policies EN1, EN2 and H15 of The Adopted Local Plan for Slough 2004 and guidance contained in the NPPF.
- It has not been demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Local Planning Authority that the reduction in car parking as a result of the development the subject of this application would not exacerbate existing on-street parking problems which could result in the obstruction of accesses and obstruction of footways to the detriment of highways safety, the amenities of adjacent residents and the visual amenity of the area contrary to the provisions of Policies H15 and T2 of The Adopted Local Plan for Slough 2004.
- It is the view of the Local Planning Authority that the proposed development does not improve the economic, social and environmental conditions of the area for the reasons given in this notice and it is not in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework.
- The proposal has been refused in line with the following drawings: (a) Drawing 9IR/11082025/PD, Recd on 23/02/2026
- against the decision of Slough Borough Council to refuse to grant planning permission
