Planning conditions
  1. The proposed extensions, together with the extensions already carried out to the dwelling, would fail to appear visually subordinate to the host dwelling and would instead overwhelm it, failing to respect the original design and form. The proposed first-floor side extension would not be set away from the boundary and would therefore substantially erode the existing spacious gap which is considered important for the estate character. Furthermore, the extensions in their totality, together with the insufficient amenity space and insufficient parking demonstrated, would result in an overdevelopment of the plot which is harmful to the character of the street scene and local area. The proposals are therefore contrary to Saved Policies EN1, EN2 and H15 of the Slough Local Plan (2004), policies DP1, DP2, DP3, EX11, EX26, EX40, EX42 and EX48 of the Residential Extensions Guidelines SPD (2010), Core Policies 7 and 8 of the Core Strategy and Policy DP3 of the National Planning Policy Framework (2026).
  2. It is the view of the Local Planning Authority that the proposed development does not improve the economic, social and environmental conditions of the area for the reasons given in this notice and it is not in accordance with the National Planning Policy Framework.
