Council planning record

Cedar tree (T1): lateral crown spread (measured from the centre of the tree) is to be reduced to 5 metres to all aspects; the reduction is to only apply to the lower two thirds of the crown, graduating to zero by the time the upper third is reached. No reduction in height is to be recommended at this time, thus maintaining the trees apical dominance. Works required to mitigate future risk to persons and/or property, by maintaining the lateral spread of the tree, and associated risk of branch failures - See appended survey report for more details

Planning conditions
  1. Cedar tree (T1) - Reduce radial crown spread (measured from the centre of the tree) to 5 metres to all aspects (equating 1.5m to 2.8m tip reduction - based on current crown spread of 7.0 metres north, 7.3 metres east, 7.8 metres south and 6.5 metres west. The reduction is to only apply to the lower two thirds of the crown, graduating to zero by the time the upper third is reached. No reduction in height. Reason: to reduce end weighting in limbs and lessen likelihood of limb failure which is relatively common for the species.
