Following arboricultural advice, it was retained in case of recovery. As of July 2025, it is approximately 99% dead, with no signs of recovery and extensive bark damage caused by wildlife. The tree will be replaced with a hardier Thuja plicata 'Atrovirens' (T2), to be planted approximately 2.5 metres to the right of the original location (T1), to maintain screening and continuity.
