- C8 - Remediation a) Prior to the commencement of development a remediation scheme specifying the measures to be taken to remediate the site to render it suitable for the development hereby permitted shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the local planning authority. The site shall be remediated in accordance with the approved measures before development begins. b) On completion of measures identified in the approved remediation scheme, a validation report (that demonstrates the effectiveness of the remediation carried out) must be submitted to the Local Planning Authority. Reason: In order to ensure that contamination is appropriately characterised and remediated in the interests of groundwater quality and human health, in accordance with Policy LP33 of the adopted Peterborough Local Plan. This is a pre-commencement condition as ground conditions must be remediated in advance of other below ground works commencing. Plans and documents submitted in support of the discharge of C8b: - RSK Hampton Woods Development Parcel R10, Gas Protection Measures Verification Plan, Reference 253058-R01 (00) dated January 2024 (this document was approved for part 1 of planning condition 8 under 23/01611/DISCHG) - GeoShield Verification Report 34, Plots 488 - 495 - GeoShield Verification Report 35, Plots 496 - 497 - GeoShield Verification Report 36. Plots 486 – 487, 498 - 503 - GeoShield Verification Report 46, plots 517 – 522 - GeoShield Verification Report Plots 47 421-422, 523-524 Assessment: Having reviewed the submitted plan with the council's Pollution Control Officer, Officers agreed that that the submitted details are acceptable to enable the discharge of validation requirements for plots 413 - 429 and 511 - 527. Remediation Validation Reports have been provided for the gas membrane installations in accordance with the Gas Protection Measures Verification Plan. Given that these are acceptable, the condition may be discharged for these plots. Conclusion: The details submitted relating to condition C8b for plots 413 - 429 and 511 - 527 are deemed acceptable to the Local Planning Authority and comply with the submission requirements of the condition. Condition C8b is hereby discharged for plots 413 - 429 and 511 - 527.
