Condition 6 (Floodlight Data and Accessible Court Entrances) – DISCHARGED Condition Prior to the commencement of development details of the floodlight technical data regarding the floodlighting performance of the sports lighting (meeting the LTA's requirements) and a block plan showing the entrance to each court being 1.2m wide to accommodate wheelchair users have been submitted to and approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority after consultation with Sport England. The development shall not be constructed other than in accordance with the approved details. Reason: To ensure the development is fit for purpose and sustainable and to accord with Development Plan Policy. Approved Documents DS26005 PL- RECIVED 29.06.2026 Block Plan showing court access arrangements and entrance widths.- RECIVED 29.06.2026 Assessment This condition was imposed to ensure that the proposed padel tennis courts are supported by an appropriate lighting scheme which meets the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) requirements and that the development incorporates suitable accessibility measures, including court entrances of sufficient width to accommodate wheelchair users. Sport England were consulted on the submitted details and sought comments from the Lawn Tennis Association. The LTA advised that the submitted floodlighting design meets the minimum recreational-use guidance for padel court floodlighting. They further noted that, whilst the proposed lighting levels are close to the LTA's recommended lux levels across the majority of the courts, achieving the recommended levels throughout would provide the opportunity to host higher-level competition in the future. In addition, Sport England confirmed that the submitted block plan demonstrates entrance widths of 1.2 metres to each court, facilitating access for wheelchair users. On this basis, Sport England advised that they are satisfied that the information submitted addresses the requirements of Condition 6 and therefore raise no objection to its discharge. Sport England also advised that, to ensure full compliance with the condition, the development should be carried out in accordance with the approved details. Conclusion The Local Planning Authority is satisfied that sufficient information has been submitted in respect of the technical performance of the proposed floodlighting and the accessibility arrangements for the padel courts, including the provision of 1.2-metre-wide entrances to accommodate wheelchair users. Sport England, following consultation with the Lawn Tennis Association, has confirmed that the submitted details satisfactorily address the requirements of Condition 6 and has raised no objection to its discharge. Accordingly, Condition 6 of Planning Permission 26/002249/FUL is hereby discharged, subject to the development being carried out in accordance with the approved details.
