Planning conditions
  1. The proposal, by virtue of the erection of a 1.8 metre high fence and the enclosure of land outside the established residential curtilage of the dwelling, would result in the loss of openness and cause unacceptable harm to the character and appearance of the area. The application site forms part of an open strip of land that contributes positively to the planned layout, spaciousness and visual amenity of the estate and adjacent pedestrian route. The proposal would result in an incongruous and visually intrusive form of enclosure, eroding the open character of the locality and undermining the original design principles of the development. The proposal is therefore contrary to Policy LP16(a) of the Peterborough Local Plan (2019) and Paragraphs 135 and 139 of the National Planning Policy Framework (2024).
